I have been a clinical social worker for over 30 years, practicing in mental health, hospital, and private practice settings. I received my MSSW from the University of Tennessee School of Social Work. I've been a member of the National Association of Social Work throughout my career.
My specialty areas include adolescent and family therapy, marital/relationship concerns, women's issues, eating disorders, concerns of single persons, spiritual issues, and personal growth. My belief in the uniqueness of each person, plus my easy, approachable style helps to create an open, trusting and comfortable therapy relationship in which change can happen.
Since 1980, I have worked as a therapist in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, providing counseling to adolescents and families, along with conducting intensive training programs for health care professionals. I've also created and led numerous workshops for community participants. I have served as field instructor and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati School of Social Work.
I am also a certified instructor of Nia, a form of mind and body fitness that combines dance, martial arts and healing arts. Teaching Nia promotes my belief in the strength and spirit of each person to find his or her unique path to wholeness and joy. For more information about Nia, please click HERE.
